Commit to your impossible goal.
Have you ever committed to do something you didn’t believe that you could ever do?
And then you surprise yourself and find that you actually can do the thing you never thought you’d be able to do?
I am very close to meeting a big impossible goal I set for myself 6 years ago.
I remember when I thought the goal was absolutely unattainable.
I wanted to hike the 46 peaks in the Adirondacks above 4000’ in elevation – in the winter.
You heard that right.
In the winter.
With snowshoes and crampons.
This past weekend I climbed peak #45.
One more peak to go. ONE.
I know, don’t count your chickens before they are hatched, but I can taste this completion.
It’s going to happen.
I’m going to do this.
It’s on my calendar.
You will hear me yipping for joy from my final summit.
Stay tuned.
This goal was not an easy one to attain.
It took me 6 winters of long drives and much discomfort. Many 10+ hour hikes in temperatures below zero with cold fingers and toes.
It was a game I had committed to play to the finish.
The best part was growing into the person that could attain this big impossible goal.
Next best part was meeting all the other people on the trail playing the same big impossible goal game.
