About Gail Tremblay

For the past 28 years, I’ve been living, learning, and loving in a long-term marriage—with all the tenderness, turbulence, and transformation that comes with it. That lived experience, combined with decades of inner and professional work, is what I bring to the couples and individuals I coach.
As a Certified Relational Life Therapy (RLT) Coach, I use the groundbreaking tools developed by Terry Real to help partners move from patterns of blame, withdrawal, and frustration into honesty, repair, and deep connection. I also incorporate somatic practices, including the Felt Sense and Inner Relationship Focusing methods developed by Ann Weiser Cornell, to support clients in attuning to their bodies, uncovering their truth, and learning to speak from their wise, grounded self.
Before I became a coach, I spent more than three decades on my own personal development path—healing my fear of intimacy, unraveling patterns of addiction (to food, marijuana, relationships, and busyness), and committing to a life of presence and compassion. My journey has included therapy, 12-Step recovery, transformational coaching, and countless hours of inner work.
In 2017, I became a Certified Life Coach through Martha Beck, Inc., and since then, I’ve coached hundreds of clients through personal reinvention, relational healing, and deep emotional and spiritual growth.

- Over a decade as a public school teacher

- Certification as a Stephen Covey “Seven Habits” Facilitator, supporting staff and organizational development
I do this work because I believe in marriage—not as a perfect fairytale, but as a living, evolving relationship that invites us to grow into our truest selves.
I know what it feels like to be lost and disconnected in your relationship—and I know what it takes to find your way back to joy, vitality, and a sense of “us” again. My husband and I have walked that path, and I use the same tools that changed my life to help my clients transform theirs.
In today’s world, marriage is no longer a static institution—it’s a creative, collaborative opportunity. You get to write the rules. You get to build something that reflects your values and your vision. And you don’t have to do it alone.
I also believe that your marriage isn’t just about you. How you relate to your partner becomes a model for your children, your coworkers, your community. A healthy relationship creates ripples of peace, compassion, and emotional intelligence that extend far beyond your home.

I live in a quirky old farmhouse in rural upstate New York with my husband, Alan, and our African Gray parrot, Cody, who calls my name all day long: “Gail, Gail, Gail.” We are grieving the recent loss of our beloved rescue dog, Dakota, who brought us endless love and companionship. I’m a caring stepmom and cheerleader to our 38-year-old daughter, Amelie.
When I’m not coaching, I’m out in nature—hiking, gardening, or traveling. I’ve summited all 115 major peaks in the northeastern U.S., completed the 46 Adirondack High Peaks in winter (#6873W), and hiked all 586 miles of the Finger Lakes Trail (#449).
In the spring, summer, and fall, you’ll often find me in the garden—hands in the dirt, tending to vegetables, berry bushes, and a wild, joyful tangle of perennials. My husband and I are in the early stages of transitioning from our longtime farmhouse in upstate New York to a smaller home in the mountains of western North Carolina, just over the Georgia border—renovating it into a cozy, welcoming retreat. In the winter months, we rest and replenish on the lush Caribbean island of Dominica, where the vibrant culture, warm-hearted people, and rainforest beauty offer deep nourishment for body and soul.
