You Are Not Alone

Hello My Sweet Peeps!
This is my gentle reminder to you.
You are not alone.

It may feel that way sometimes.
And that’s OK.

You don’t have to do any of it alone any longer.

It may feel like you’re “on your own”.
But I’m telling you the truth.

You are not alone.

Look back over the last 24 hours or the past week.

Acknowledge and appreciate all the acts of kindness or service that have been done or are being done on your behalf.

It might be the texts that arrive on your phone.
Or the snail mail that arrives in your mailbox.
The meal that your partner helps prepare.
The phone call from a friend.

Shift your thoughts to focus on what you do have.

On what is working for you.
And away from all that is “wrong” or “should be” other than what it is.

Today I caught myself looking out my kitchen window
worrying about when I’d find time to fill the soon to be empty bird feeders.
It took me a moment to refocus my eyes and my mind to take notice of, and enjoy, the many birds that were on those feeders.

A quick re-frame of mind from feelings of anxiety to feelings of joy.

You can do this too.

Feeling alone and “on your own”?
Shift your thoughts to the people in your life that you have.
Upgrade your feelings from shame or despair to gratitude and appreciation.

Change your actions from isolating to initiating.

Ask for assistance.
Invite someone’s participation in a project.

Don’t do it alone if that’s not what you want to do.

You’re not alone.

Reach out.
Initiate.
Make a request.
Send an invite.

You’re not alone.
It may feel that way sometimes.

And that’s OK.

You deserve a loving, connected and juicy marriage.

Most important. Take care of you.

Here are 5 easy suggestions:
1. Get enough sleep. Establish a bedtime routine and follow it.
2. Get outside in nature every day. Rain or shine.
3. Appreciate what is wonderful in the world. Write 3-5 things you are grateful for each day.
4. Reach out to a sister. Call her once a week – or every day. Ask how she is and what she is feeling. Give her the space to release her feelings without any judgment or fixing.
5. Treat yourself to pleasure. Dance. Take a nap. Sing out loud. Read a novel. Soak in the tub. Do anything you want – just for the pleasure of it.

With all my love.
From my heart to yours.
Gail
