It’s Time To Let Go of 2019

This is my gentle reminder to you.
It’s time to let go of 2019.

Acknowledge what did not go well or feel so great in the past year – and leave it in the past.

We are in that magic time between Winter Solstice and the start of the New Year. The transition between learning from the past year and casting our intention for the year ahead.

We have a bonus opportunity with the ending of a decade and the beginning of another.
Take advantage of this gentle reminder and apply it to both the passing of another year – and the completion of a decade.

A critical step to opening up to all that is possible for you and your life in the future
is to let go of the past.

Let go of what happened, the story you gave it, the feelings you have about it, what you did or didn’t do, and the results you got from all of it.

Let go of it.
It’s done.
It happened as it happened.
You did the best you could do at the time – and it’s over.

It’s time to let go of 2019 and the whole dang decade.

Otherwise you take it all with you right into 2020 – and into 2030 as well!
And that may not be what’s best for you and your future self.

Last week we looked back at 2019 in an effort to evolve & grow.

To do that we acknowledged the good, the bad & the ugly.
We celebrated the good and learned from the not so good.

This week we are letting go of all that did not go well or feel so great in the past year.

It’s done.
It’s over.

Let go of 2019.

Holding on tightly to the past takes a lot of energy.

Maintaining a hold on expectations, resentments, and thoughts that no longer serve us is exhausting.
It takes resources that can be better used elsewhere.

In creating.
In contributing.
In appreciating.
In being at peace.

Hold on tight or let go and be…..
Open.

Use your own hand as an example of the energy required to maintain a tight closed fist.
Close your hand tightly into a fist.
That’s what holding on feels like – and looks like.

Holding tightly.

To resentment.
To judgement.
To hurt.

Look at that fist.
Closed tight.

Do you have an circumstance – or a relationship – where you have been a closed tight fist in 2019?
Is there a situation where you have been a tight closed fist for an entire decade?
That’s what we do when we don’t take the time to become aware, and commit to learn, grow, evolve – and let go.

Is there a situation where you have been a closed tight fist for an entire decade?

That’s what we do when we don’t take the time to become aware, and commit to learn, grow, evolve – and let go.

Look at your hand again as you gently loosen what you’ve been holding onto.
Notice how your hand feels.

The movement.
The sensation of relaxing.
The gentle opening.

Imagine how your heart and energy would feel if you gently let go of past resentments, judgments, and stories.

And opened to forgiveness, curiosity, and being in the present moment.

Now fully open your hands and turn your palms upward to the sky.
Feel an invitation to unknown possibilities.

This is how we grow.

Let go of the tight hold past stories have had on you and the people in your life.
Unclench your fist and drop what you’ve been clinging to.

Let it go.
Let go of being right and making them wrong — even when you are right.

Forgive others.
Forgive yourself.

Let go of 2019 and the decade that is coming to a close.

Open to the present moment where miracles happen.

Today is the day.
Go out and practice.
Acknowledge what did not go well or feel so great in the past year – and leave it in the past.

It’s time to let go of 2019.
