My Addiction to Speed

Here’s my gentle reminder to you.
Say goodbye to busy-busy-do-do.

Say hello to Ground.

Consider for a moment that you, too, might be addicted to speed.

If you weren’t doing, doing, doing
what might you be thinking or feeling?

I ask myself this question often as I find myself down the rabbit hole of doing and losing track of being in the present moment – with myself, with the beauty I am surrounded with, with the people I care about.

There is so much goodness to BE with.

It’s hard to take it all in.

I just had a fantabulous session with a client this morning.

He brought up his addiction to speed.

Not the speed in pill form but the speed of Do, Do, Do.

Speed in this form is still a drug.

It’s one of my favorites too. He said,

“I keep moving like a whirling dervish.

The busier I am, the more I ride the rush of adrenaline.”

What really matters in your life?

If you weren’t rushing about in a cloud of
Busy – Busy – Do – Do

What would you be thinking and feeling?

What would become available to you?

For me – I would be Connecting.

Connecting with myself.

With my family & friends.

Connecting with my Higher Power, with Nature.

With the world of Magic & Spirit.

How to stop your addiction to Busy-Busy-Do-Do?

Say hello to Ground.

Notice where you are and what you are doing.

Stop the practice of Busy-Busy-Do-Do.

Start the practice of Ground.

I asked my client to practice the tool of Ground.

The Tool of Ground:

  • Simply focus your mind on the soles of your feet on the ground.
  • If you are standing, feel the bottoms of your feet on the ground.
  • If you are sitting, place your feet firmly on the ground.
  • Feel the floor beneath your feet.

You just grounded yourself.

Practice the tool of ground as many times as possible during your day.

Ground. Tether yourself to the planet.

Ground. And you are secure.

Today is the day.
Go out and practice.
Say hello to Ground.

Say goodbye to busy-busy-do-do.

P.S. Whenever you are ready, here are 3 things you can do to speed less and ground more:
